It is the return of the UFC to Vancouver. We had Tom Wright on the “Weigh In” Radio show on TSN Radio 1290 to talk with us about Canada and the role we play in MMA. Its exciting to think that Canada is a leader in the sport. Thats the reason weve got Jones vs Gustafsson in Toronto. Vancouver will be the battle ground for a title fight, and for a few guys trying to keep their jobs in the UFC. That means fans should be treated to some solid action in the cage. Outside the cage, this article has me @fitcityjordan going toe to toe with @WebSodaGirl Gabby McAlpine. Wed love for you to chime in on social media. #TeamJC or #TeamGabzilla. Let us know and let @TSN_Sports know you love MMA. Demetrious Johnson (19-2-1) vs Ali Bagautinov (13-2-0) JC: Demetrious Johnson is just really good at MMA. He is all around with his ability to wrestle and strike. Hes the champ right now, and its because he is a talent. Watch him out strike, out point, and out game plan Bagautinov. Johnson has earned stoppages in his last two fights, and in my opinion those two athletes were more of a standout challenge than Bagautinov. The challenger is still dangerous, but I think Johnson is on another level. Gabzilla: Demetrious Johnson will win. I like him, and hes been looking really good his whole career. So its a simple choice. Johnson stays champ. Rory MacDonald (16-2-0) vs Tyron Woodley (13-2-0) JC: Im pretty sure this one is going to be a barn burner. Remember the old Rory MacDonald? The one who got all the hype, the one who was supposed to challenge the likes of GSP for talent? Well, if he doesnt show up, Woodley will run him over. Anything less than the best MacDonald we have ever seen cant handle Tyron Woodleys athleticism. Honestly, I dont think even a top notch MacDonald can. The Canadian is coming off four fights having gone to decision; Woodley has stopped his last two fights. I see Woodley pushing the pace and ending this one in the third. Gabzilla: Rory is always hungry, too hungry sometimes but I dont think he will be able to handle the raw power of Woodley. Woodley will ultimately be the winner here. Ryan Bader (16-4-0) vs Rafael Cavalcante (12-4-0) JC: Nothing says great fight like a highly skilled pair of strikers, with enough ground game to keep things interesting. As always, if Cavalcante can come in clean, I think he wins this one by being the higher skilled athlete. There is room on this card for a fight of the night, and I think this will be it. Im looking forward to these two athletes fighting for their jobs, or at least making their way up the rankings in the top 10. I personally think Cavalcante has the skill to make a push for top five, and it will start here with a KO of Bader. Gabzilla: Bader will win this one. I just love his intensity and I think he will win by strikes. His last fight was amazing and I think he wants to keep going with that streak Brendan Schaub (10-3-0) vs Andrei Arlovski (21-10-0) JC: I was at the match when Arlovski fought Fedor. The whole arena went silent watching Arlovski use his technical striking to control the best of the best. That is until he dropped his hands and jumped chin first at the best power puncher in the world. That pretty much sums up Arlovski. Amazing skill, coupled with the amazing ability to make a massive mistake that costs himself the fight. He hasnt looked sharp yet in his fights, but he hasnt looked bad either. All that negative and youd think Id say Schaub is going to get this. I dont think that will be the case. Arlovski will control the stand up early, Schaub will go for the take down. Once this is on the ground, I think the Russian Sambo specialist will surprise Schaub. Arlovski will get a submission to end the night. Gabzilla: Schaub should take this one. I think he will win by submission; he is out to prove himself as an elite grappler since his performance at Metamoris. Metamoris: Schaub vs Cyborg was a bad showing for Brendan, but since then Schuab has been out to prove the haters wrong. Discount Air Max . That further limits the options of Australia coach Ewen McKenzie, who on Monday suspended six players who were involved in a night out in Dublin ahead of the Saturdays 32-15 win over the Irish. Napoli hit two home runs, Jonny Gomes and prized rookie Xander Bogaerts also connected, and the Red Sox kept up their dizzying scoring spree at Yankee Stadium by bashing New York 13-9 Saturday for a fifth straight win. https://www.airmaxchina.us/ . -- Canadas Milos Raonic defeated Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France on Saturday to advance to the third round of the BNP Paribas Open. Roma has a game in hand but now second place is even at risk for the capital side as Napoli moved to within three points with the win. "The result is not always fair," Roma coach Rudi Garcia said. "If we play like this until the end we will win many matches. JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Beast Mode was Least Mode again. Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch abruptly ended his media availability -- again -- walking away from a throng of reporters while escorted by a member of the New Jersey State Police on Wednesday after about 7 uncomfortable minutes in which he answered just a few questions. The elusive Lynch, who created a stir at media day Tuesday by talking for only 6 1/2 minutes, writhed in his seat and leaned his head back at times. A few dozen reporters, lined up as much as five deep, tried to ask questions during the players 45-minute availability at the team hotel. "I really dont have too much to say, boss," Lynch said in a tone barely above a whisper. "I really dont. I appreciate it, but I dont get it. Im just here so I wont get fined, boss. Thats the only reason Im here." Earlier this month, Lynch was fined $50,000 for not co-operating with the Seattle media. The NFL put that fine on hold, saying it would be rescinded if he complied with media obligations. During media day, Lynch spoke for 6 1/2 minutes before leaving, then returning to speak to Deion Sanders for NFL Network, to the Seahawks website, and to Armed Forces Network -- and acknowledged he was trying to avoid being fined by the league for not meeting his media requirements. It didnt appear Lynch would be fined, for either Tuesday or Wednesday. "Players are required to participate and he participated," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said in an email to The Associated Press. "His comments of the past two days have been widely circulated." In a statement before Tuesdays media session, the Pro Football Writers of America said it was "extremely disappointed in the lack of meaningful access" to Lynch at media day. The PFWA added that several "long-standing and high-profile members were appalled by Mr. Lynchs conduct and refusal to answer any questions." The organization also called the statement by the league that Lynch participated Tuesday "an affront to our membership," but added that it was "encouraged" that the NFL would continue to monitor the situation. Players have clauses in their contract requiring them to co-operate with the media. Fullback Michael Robinson, one of Lynchs buddies who was seated to his left, even poked fun at the situation by asking Lynch a question of his own. "What do you think of your fullback??" Robinson said, laughing.dddddddddddd "Is he a pretty cool brother?" "No," Lynch responded. "What?" Robinson asked incredulously. "No," Lynch repeated. "Thats messed up," a smiling Robinson said. "We went to dinner last night and everything, man." After Lynch was short with his answers to a few questions, Robinson moved the microphone in front of himself and began answering questions for Lynch. "Im going to slide up in this thing," Robinson said with a smile, "and break up the monotony a little bit. Uhh, Marshawn aint going to try to say nothing to you guys, so you can direct your questions toward me." Robinson used the running backs "boss" figure of speech to end each sentence. One reporter asked how Lynch was feeling. "He just wants to play ball, boss," Robinson said. Robinson was then asked how he would define "Beast Mode." "Its a lifestyle, boss," Robinson responded as Lynch, wearing headphones on top of his head, sat back in his chair smiling. Lynch was asked if he was concerned he could be fined for not showing up at the availability, and he handled that one himself. "Im here, man," Lynch said. "So, I dont have to pay the fine, boss." Lynch said it was a "false" assumption that he doesnt like talking to the media because he was once misquoted. He also said that its not hard balancing being a private person and a football star because the fans dont mind how he goes about his business. "The media has a problem with it," Lynch said. "Its a problem if they choose to take something away from me for not doing it." A reporter reminded Lynch that its the NFL that issues the fines. "Well, reporters have to call it in," Lynch said. "So, it starts somewhere, right?" At one point, Lynch looked up at a team staffer and asked, "Whats up with that time?" A few moments later, a reporter tried to ask a question, shouting, "Hey, Marshawn!" Lynch got up, climbed over a few chairs and made his way through the crowd of reporters and disappeared through an area restricted to team personnel. "He gets it done on game day," Robinson said after Lynch left. "If youre looking for somebody whos going lead by example, all you have to do is watch him run the ball and you know what time it is."
